About the Role
GetGround is rebuilding buy-to-let property investment for UK landlords end to end — company formation, accounting and tax, a landlord current account, property management, lettings and mortgages, all inside one platform. Engineering there treats AI as a first-class citizen, not just in what they ship but in how code gets written, systems get reasoned about, and engineers scale themselves. You'll join one of their cross-functional product teams in London, working across a React, Remix and TypeScript frontend and a Golang backend, taking ideas from concept through to deployment for landlords managing part of a £2bn+ portfolio.
You'll have real ownership in a fast-moving environment where things aren't always clearly defined — shaping which problems get solved as much as how they get built. That means working closely with product, design and other engineers, using AI tools as genuine leverage in your day-to-day development rather than just autocomplete, and helping define what an AI-native engineering practice looks like as the team rebuilds and scales.
What They're Looking For
- You've worked as a full stack engineer on user-facing products, comfortable moving between frontend and backend even if your background leans more heavily one way
- You think in trade-offs and business impact, not just technical solutions — you can frame the problem before reaching for an architecture
- You're curious about using AI tools to build software faster, and can talk through how you actually prompt and reason with them, not just what they produced
- You have a track record of mentoring or supporting other engineers, and want to help shape a team as it scales back up
- You bring testing practice — unit, integration, or automated end-to-end — as a habit, not an afterthought
- Familiarity with React, Remix and TypeScript is a plus but not required — what matters more is how you reason about systems
