About the Role
Aglide secures the work applications that identity providers like Okta and Entra can't reach, such as banking portals, privileged service accounts and social media, using an on-device browser agent and browser extension that run tasks inside customers' apps. Household-name fintechs and public insurers run sign-in and user-lifecycle workflows on it every day for thousands of users. As a founding engineer in San Francisco, you'll own problems end to end: meeting the customer, diagnosing the issue, designing the fix and shipping it to production, sometimes inside a week.
This seat leans further into customer work than a typical founding role. You'll meet customers regularly to understand what they need, confirm your fix landed and walk them through what you shipped, while building across the stack: the browser automation engine, the on-device agent environment, a no-code workflow builder, a distributed task system running on end-user devices, platform controls and analytics, and end-to-end encrypted infrastructure. Few playbooks exist for browser agents deployed at this scale, so you'll help write one. TypeScript, Postgres, Electron, browser extensions and Puppeteer, Playwright or Selenium experience all help. The pace is high and occasionally means long nights and weekends, balanced by unlimited PTO they push you to take.
What They're Looking For
- You have 1+ years shipping production software at a company, building things real users depend on, not just coursework or prototypes.
- You're a strong debugger and systems thinker, comfortable with messy browser automation and workflows that run on end-user devices with end-to-end encrypted data.
- You want regular customer contact: understanding their problems, validating fixes with them and spotting product opportunities in their questions.
- You want full ownership and are comfortable being the one person responsible from first customer call to production.
- You can work from their North Waterfront office most days and already have US work authorisation, as they can't sponsor visas.
